New City New Friends

New friendships come in our lives constantly and no matter what some people leave an impressions on you. But it’s also not always easy specially making new friends in a city where everyone is in a hurry and flaky. When I first moved here I only had one friend which was my co worker. But I always wanted to make new friends. So here are 3 tips on how to make new friends.

The Power of Social Media

When I decided to start blogging, I kept talking to my husband about all the things I wanted to do. As much as my husband is supportive and a great listener. I am sure he didn’t want to talk about it all the time. So I thought the best possible thing to do is to find a friend with the same common goal. So I turned to Instagram and I found people that were in my area that were into the same things as I was. It was as simple as Direct Message. I introduced myself to them and the communication continued and eventually we met up and now we talk about all the time.

Talk to Someone New

Recently I met someone that worked at the dentist office that I went to. She was around my age and honestly we got along right away. So my next advice is be honest and tell them your situation. In my case, I told her that since I moved here I made only two friends and I felt like we got along. So I basically asked for her number so we can go grab lunch or coffee. Luckily she was in the same boat as I was and it was so easy to make that connection with her.

Invite Someone New

When someone brings a new person into the horizon it’s always easier to make new friends because you have someone to introduce you to them, and it becomes easier to find a common ground. Not so long ago my friend invited me to go out to drinks with her and her friends and as much as it could be awkward at first be yourself. Next thing you know, you have made a new friend.

Do you have any other ways to make new friends? If so let me know in the comments below!
